Massage Therapy

Massage is one of the oldest and purest of therapies. Its beginnings are recorded in history in the writings of physicians such as Hippocrates as early as the 5th Century B.C. (who believed everyone should start the day with a scented bath and massage). Since then, it has been a part of healing throughout the world and throughout all time.

Massage is Instinctual

We use it without thought – if something hurts, we rub it; when someone needs soothing, we touch them.

Massage is a Science

Its therapeutic effects have been tested and documented in scientific research.

Massage is an Art

It reaches its highest form of expression through a therapist who loves the work and responds with all of her skills to what she feels in your body.

Some Massage Techniques

  • Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle non-invasive manipulative technique that removes obstacles so the body may self-correct. Very light touch, with very hypnotic results.
  • Swedish Massage uses long smooth strokes, followed by kneading strokes which increase venous and lymphatic circulation and produces relaxation.
  • Reflexology works on the feet using a premise that there is a definite relationship between areas of the feet and other parts of the body.
  • Polarity balances body energy fields. We are energy and are governed by electromagnetic charges. When any current is short circuited, the entire body is affected.
  • Hot Stone Therapy is a unique bodywork treatment, using different sizes of hot to warm stones to bring penetrating heat to tissues and aching muscles. The stones are used for massage movements, producing a mesmerizing and powerful effect.
